Tax increases likely for town residents

The Front Royal Town Council discussed its options for the FY 2011 budget at Monday night’s work session, and with a projected shortfall of $1,250,000 one thing became immanently clear — something needs to change.

That change is looking more and more like it will be made in the amount of personal property or real estate tax each resident pays on a biannual basis.

The script couldn’t have played out more perfectly for Skyline’s Zach Wooddell last Wednesday against cross-town rival Warren County, even if the Hawks senior had written the manuscript himself.

In a dream ending that could have came right out of Hollywood, Wooddell’s big win in the 215-pound match-up not only sealed the team victory for the Hawks, but it also was his 100th career win on the mat as well.
